Areca palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens) is native to the tropics and grows mostly in the rich rainforests of Tanzania, Madagascar and the Kamar Islands. It is one of the most powerful plants that enrich the living space with oxygen while reducing carbon dioxide in the air. Thanks to its ability to adapt to colder environments, this is a very popular indoor plant. Has a need for bright places to grow. The optimum room temperature to be provided is between 18 and 22 degrees. Requires frequent spraying or placement above the water surface. In winter it can withstand the temperature of 13 C but will grow more slowly. To grow well, these palms need soil supplementation, air humidity, and regular fertilization during the growing season. It is best to irrigate with standing water. Transplantation of the Areca palm should be periodic. Young plants can be transplanted every year, adults every 7 years and old every 3-5 years, and those over 15 years old every 6-7 years. Transplanting can be done in March or April.
